Restoration can be defined as the combination of techniques, manual skills, and knowledge of materials that allow the original appearance of an object worn down by time or broken by sudden blows to be restored.
In particular, Animal Factor Studio specializes in the restoration of taxidermied animals from past decades: zoological collections in leather, skeletons, wooden or plaster supports, hunting trophies, and in vitro zoological collections. The restoration of stuffed animals or objects belonging to the animal world allows important material to be exhibited again that would otherwise be destined to remain hidden in museum storerooms (in the case of museum collections) or stored in basements and attics in the case of private collections, inexorably worsening their already precarious condition. Over the years, experience in this field has made it possible to restore numerous pieces of considerable historical and economic importance to their former glory. A lack of information and expertise in restoration leads to incorrect practices in the maintenance and restoration of old zoological/animalia items stored in museum warehouses or private homes.

Animal Factor Studio carries out restoration work for public institutions, museums, university departments of biology, zoology, and anatomy, but also at the request of private citizens who own similar objects. Restoration is mainly aimed at animals stuffed in the late 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, up to the present day. These may be animals in skin, skeletons, fish, but also reproductions in plaster, papier-mâché, wood, and even historical waxes.
