Dr. Alberto Michelon
Animal Factor Studio
I first became interested in taxidermy while studying Natural Sciences at the University of Padua. After winning the thesis prize in the history of biology awarded by the National Academy of Sciences known as the XL, in 2005 I decided to make taxidermy my profession. After spending two years in a taxidermist’s workshop in central Italy, where I learned all the techniques of the trade, I left my mentor to embark on new adventures abroad. In the following years, I worked in natural history museums in Spain, the United States, and Portugal, spending four years in Spain in particular.
Returning to Italy after five years of experience in the field, I founded Animal Factor Studio, an ambitious project with which I wanted to give a new perspective to a now abandoned craft, projecting it into the future and into the world of art.
